Fog Lamp
"For a band that earns their name with a deep synth murk, San Francisco’s Fog Lamp come in hot on their debut album. They earn that Siltbreeze stamp of approval all over their six-minute track “Wash the Machine,” which starts out righteous and punchy and winds down with cathedral-worthy beatific noise.
With clear influences from goth greats like Killing Joke, there’s this ragged quality to this band’s vocals that make everything they do sound like they’re at loose ends. “Library Cop” has this line where the titular character (a librarian??) chastises someone for bringing a drink into the computer area, which is both hilarious and understandably urgent. Fuck getting policed in safe spaces!" - Evan Minsker (see-saw.fun)

Replica Watch
"Bay Area band featuring members of Toads, Comets on Fire, and Icky Boyfriends. Miranda Fisher’s vocal melody on a track like “A Thousand Cuts” feels like it could’ve appeared on a ’60’s psych-leaning rock’n’roll 45, but in the hands of her bandmates, it’s given garage punk heft. They strike a great balance between heavy and loose.” - Evan Minsker, See/Saw
